Graduation Card

Hello there, and Happy Thursday. I'm a little late with my post, but better late than never...lol. This card qualifies for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge #4. The challenge was to use at least 2 different ribbons on your artwork.

A friends daughter is graduating from Highschool, and she wanted me to make a grad card that she could give her. I hope she likes it...both of them that is, lol!

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I clear embossed the year on black CS. Ooooooo, shiny, and very elegant.

Recipe: CTMH CS-Black & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Black & Grey Flannel, CTMH SS-Class Of, Nestabilities-Circle, Scalloped Circle & Fancy Tags, Silver Organdy Ribbon, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Foam Squares, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Cap & Diploma Stickers.
{Edited Post} I forgot to mention that I used Silver Organdy Ribbon and Black Grosgrain Ribbon to qualify for the Challenge.

A Guy Card

Good morning! I have another guy card to share with you. This was made for that tough age where the cutesy airplanes and animals don't work, but the fishing and outdoor scene don't work yet either. I love how it turned out.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Bamboo, Moonstruck, Black & Topiary, CTMH Ink-Moonstruck, Topiary & Black, CTMH SS-Shining Star, Star Struck & A Little of Everything, Cuttlebug Diamond Plate EF, Martha Stewart Iron Gate Punch.

Thomas Kincade Cards

Time for some more Thomas Kincade cards, and a couple of techniques. I prepared these for a card class at The Scrapbook Cottage, they were alot of fun to make.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

For this card, I used Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint (clear). I stamped CTMH Chocolate Ink on cream CS, cut it out using Nestabilities, and then painted it with the Crackle. I let it dry about 10 minutes, and then helped it along with my craft heater. In the areas I spread the Crackle a little too thick, the craft heater actually made the Crackle bubble.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
For this card, I stamped the image in black, and then coloured it in with Copics. Silly me didn't keep all my recipe info (before sending it to Sharon, hi Sharon), so I don't have a list of the colours I used. To make things easier to colour, the path and the brick wall are coloured in with a base coat first, and then highlighted with other colours. I used a white gel pen to add flowers along the bottom of the greenery.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
This card was alot of fun. I stamped the image on vellum, and then coloured the back with Copics. To finish off the card, I cut the shape out of the card, and attached the vellum piece on the front, I then covered up the edge by attaching a border with foam squares. (I used Nestabilites Labels Twelve).

Here's a shot with the light shining through the vellum.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #3

Happy Monday, it's challenge time! This week the Heart 2 Heart Challenge is a Sketch:
Here is what I did with the sketch. I just love CTMH SS A Tweet. The colours in the photo seem a little off. (I may edit it later and upload a better picture at the bottom of this post.) I sponge daubed the colour onto the stamp, stamped it, then sponge daubed the top edge of the bird.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Veranda, CTMH CS-Colonial White, Cocoa & Creme Brulee, CTMH Ink-Chocolate, Cocoa, Juniper, Black, Grey Flannel & Creme Brulee, CTMH SS-A Tweet, Rhinestones, Pearls, Nestabilities-Circle & Labels Three, Impressabilities-Flourish, Prima Flowers, Foam Squares, CTMH Creme Brulee 5/8" Grosgrain w/ White Stitching Ribbon.

Spring Card, Thinking of You

The ladies at work wanted a few cards for Mother's Day and other occasions, and this was one that I came up with. It had been a while since I worked with vellum. So I based this one on a card by Julie Buhler.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and used Gold Embossing Powder. I stamped and coloured the butterfly, cut it out, and attached it using foam squares. For the flowers I used a combination of first and second generation stamping.

Recipe: CTMH PP-Veranda, CTMH CS-White Daisy & Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Juniper & Black, CTMH SS-Spring Possibilities, Comforting Thoughts, Treasure Life & With Love, White Vellum, Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder, CTMH Juniper Grosgrain Ribbon, Gold Brads, Pearls, Rhinestones, Foam Squares, Stickles.
I think the ladies will like this one!
Enjoy,

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #2

Hi there! This is my 2nd post for today, so be sure to scroll down and check out my first post: Impressabilities Cards.
.
The challenge this week from Heart 2 Heart Challenge's is a 1/2/3 Challenge.
.
The rules, if you dare to take this challenge are (don't worry, this message will NOT explode after you read them):
Use 1 stamped image (not 1 stamp set)
Use 2 different patterned papers
Use 3 embellishments (don't have to be 3 of the same)
.
Tahdah, here is my entry!
1 stamped image=Flowers from Enjoy Every Moment
2 patterned papers=Purple & Floral from Bella Paper Pack
3 embellishments= 2 Brads & 1 Ribbon
.
That was tough, but not as difficult as last weeks Colour Challenge. I had to refrain from adding pearls, or rhinestones, and not adding a sentiment, but I managed to come away unscathed from the challenge. It was alot of fun.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5
Recipe: CTMH PP-Bella, CTMH CS-Pansy Purple, White Daisy, Hollyhock & Colonial White, CTMH Ink-Petal, Black & Pansy Purple, CTMH SS-Enjoy Every Moment, Nestabilities-Labels Four & Fancy Tags, White Daisy Bigger Brads, White Organdy Ribbon, Copics-YG95, YG03, BV0000, BV00, BV02, BV13, Y06, Foam Squares.
.
If you'd like to join in on the fun, or check out other CTMH creations, you can check out the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog HERE.

Impressabilities Cards

I made some more cards with Spellbinder's Impressabilities. If you missed my posts on Impressabilities Tips & Techniques, you can find Part 1 HERE, and Part 2 HERE.
.

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
This card was inspired by Paula Lackamp. I used Impressabilities Floral & Stone for the background. I clear embossed the cake on white CS and used a stipple brush to apply the colour. I then wiped the ink off the embossing.
.

.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Twilight & Outdoor Denim, CTMH Ink-Twilight & Heavenly Blue, CTMH SS-Piece of Cake & Joy Forever, Impressabilities-Floral & Stone, Versmark, Clear Embossing Powder, ribbon, Foam Squares, Ribbon Flower.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
This card was inspired by Naznin Challa. I used Impressabilities Flourish on the bottom half of the card. I took Nestabilities Fancy Tags and turned it the other way, to use it as a flourish instead of a tag.
.

.
Recipe: CTMH PP-Verands, CTMH CS-Pansy Purple, Petal, Creme Brulee, Colonial White & White Daisy, CTMH Ink-Pansy Purple, Petal, Balck & Olive, CTMH SS-Blossom Blocks, Life Is So Good & Gracious Greetings, Impressabilities-Flourish, Nestabilities-Fancy Tags, Piercing Tool, Pearls, Martha Stewart Double Scallop Punch, Foam Squares.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #1

Heart 2 Heart Challenges got started this week! All entries are made with CTMH products, so if you need inspiration this is the place to go. If you don't have CTMH products that's okay, you'll be inspired by some great artwork by my CTMH Sista's.
.
The very first Heart 2 Heart Challenge was a colour challenge:

.
This was a difficult one for me. These are out of my colour comfort zone, but that's good, it stretches my artistic-ness:) And...hold on to your chairs...this is my second try at this colour combo. Yes, the shock will wear off momentarily. Can you believe it? I had one card already to photograph and then I said, "Deneen, there is no way you can take a picture of this...go try again." So I did. I'm still not totally satisfied with it, but it is certainly way better than the other one.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Sweet Leaf & Chocolate, CTMH Ink-Moonstruck, Sunflower, Chocolate, Bamboo & Desert Sand, CTMH SS-Adorable Backgrounds, Say It In Style & With Love, Rhinestones, Pearls, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Organdy Ribbon.
.
Okay, now go check out some great creations using this colour combo HERE.

Enjoy,

Another Spring Card

This card almost got lost in the shuffle of things. I had made it before Easter, but of course I needed to post my Easter cards before Easter. I noticed it in my file of cards to post, and I almost deleted it thinking I had posted it already.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
The flowers were inpired by CTMH Sista Susan Daniels, who used the dotted circle in the SS-With Love as flower petals. I didn't have the right colour ribbon, so I coloured my White Grosgrain Ribbon with Copic R32. Gotta love Copics!
.
.
Recipe: CTMH CS-White Daisy, Blush, Pansy Purple, Sweet Leaf & Lilac Mist, CTMH Ink-Blush, Hydrangea, Spring Iris, Buttercup, New England Ivy & Black, CTMH SS-With Love, Comforting Thoughts & A Tweet, Martha Stewart Double Loops Punch, Cuttlebug EF-Frills & Birds & Swirls, Nestabilities Scallop Oval & Oval, Corner Rounder, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Copic-R32, 3D Foam Squares.
.

Hopefully you're enjoying warmer Spring weather.
Enjoy,
Deneen

Masculine Cards

Good morning! I hope you had a great Easter. I ate a few too many chocolates, and then felt yucky, you'd think after 39 Easter's I'd know better, lol!!!
.
I thought it was time to add a few more masculine cards to my stash, you do realize Father's Day is coming up...too fast if you ask me. Yikes, 2 months and it will be June!!! But alas, I digress...on to the cards.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
I'm really pleased at how this card turned out. I like the 'roughness' of it. I also kept the sentiment basic so that it could be used as a Father's Day card or a Birthday Card.
.
I have a short tutorial on how to make a double ended tag into a single ended one....just scroll down.

.
Recipe: Patterned Paper-My Mind's Eye Pajama Plaid, CS-Light Green Embossed Stripe, CTMH CS-New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim & Bamboo, CTMH SS-Relax, Doodle Alphabet & Beautiful Things, Twill Ribbon, Antique Copper Brads, Natural Hemp, 3D Foam Squares, Copic W-1, Nestabilities Ribbon Tags Trio, Cuttlebug Argyle EF.
.

Here's the same layout, but with a different image. Not all guys are fishermen, but what guy doesn't enjoy cars, or a least looking at them. I made the metal ring by wrapping 24 gauge gold wire around a round highlighter. It's hard to tell, but I cut the car out and used 3D foam squares to pop it off the page.

.
Recipe: Patterned Paper-My Mind's Eye Pajama Plaid, CS-Light Green Embossed Stripe, CTMH CS-New England Ivy, Colonial White & Cocoa, CTMH Ink-Black, Cocoa, Chocolate, New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim, Grey Flannel & Cranberry, CTMH SS-Relax, Doodle Alphabet, Flyin' High & Raccoon & Friends, Twill Ribbon, Antique Copper Brads, 3D Foam Squares, 24 Gauge Gold Wire, Copic W-1, Nestabilities Ribbon Tags Trio, Cuttlebug Argyle EF.
.Tag Tutorial
.
Just a note: You don't have to trim the tag (step 2), I just find it easier to see where I want to place it.
.
And now I have a 3rd card to share with you today...I was on a roll making masculine cards. This card was inspired by CTMH Sista Jennifer Diaz.
.
Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"
.
The image of 'Happy Birthday' is embossed with Black Embossing Powder and attached with 3D Foam Squares. I like this colour combination. For the background, I applied Vanilla Cream Ink directly to the CS, then applied Desert Sand with a Stipple Brush, I finished off the edges with Desert Sand and a Sponge Dauber. It's difficult to tell from the photo, but it has a marbled look to it.

.
Recipe: CTMH CS-Indian Corn Blue, White Daisy, Chocolate & Autumn Terracotta, CTMH Ink-Bamboo, Vanilla Cream, Desert Sand, Cocoa, Autumn Terracotta, Chocolate & Indian Corn Blue, CTMH SS-Happy Birthday, Cupcake Sprinkles, Piece of Cake, Birthday Bash, Twill Ribbon, Antique Copper Brads & Mini Brads, 3D Foam Squares, Black Embossing Powder, Versamark Stamp Pad, Cuttlebug Diamond Plate EF.
.
You may recognize this card, I have posted it before. I tweaked it a little, and since this post is to inspire masculine cards, I thought I'd post it again.

.
.
Enjoy,
Deneen

Pure Innocence

I saw these stamps sets called Pure Innocence by My Favorite Things and knew I had to have them. They are soooo cute, plus it gives me a chance to play with my Copics. The image is not too big or complicated, just perfect for a beginner Copic-er.
.
Card Size: 5" x 7"

.
Recipe: Patterned Paper-Basic Grey Lemonade, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Cocoa & Heavenly Blue, Cuttlebug EF-Forest Branches, Nestabilities Fancy Tags, Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Pink Organdy Ribbon, Rhinestones, Buttons, Corner Rounder, Prima Flowers.

Enjoy,
Deneen
